🦅 Clash at Noble Hawk – Tournament Recap
Date: Saturday, August 30, 2025
Course: Noble Hawk Golf Links
🌟 Tournament Overview
Noble Hawk proved itself a beast: narrow fairways, deep bunkers, and tall fescues that acted as one-stroke penalties for any ball that disappeared. Precision was everything, and the course forced players to grind for every stroke. By the end of the day, each division had its own drama — wire-to-wire survival in the Tiger Woods Division, a best-round-of-the-season duel in the Calvin Peete Division, and a breakthrough victory in the Harold Varner Division.
🔥 Tiger Woods Division (TW)
Wilder’s Wire-to-Wire Victory
James Wilder started hot, reaching 3-under on the front nine and never giving up the lead. Even with a closing bogey on 18, his +6 was enough to claim a wire-to-wire win and hold off the late fireworks.
Renn’s 3-Wood Charge!!!
Renn stole the spotlight on the back nine, shelving his driver after a rough start and relying on his 3-wood. The result: 3-under on the back nine and a chance to win outright on 18. His eagle putt slid past, leaving him at +6 and officially 2nd on handicap — but it was his most complete round yet and confirmed him as the most improved player in the division.
Tracey’s Clutch Finish
Tracey Tillar capped his round with a 30-foot birdie putt on 18 to tie Wilder at +6. The handicap tiebreaker nudged him to 3rd, but the finish was electric — and it was enough to move him to the top of the Tiger Woods Division standings.
🔥 Calvin Peete Division (CP)
Royal Survives Clarence’s Best
Jalen Royal added another title, but he had to sweat it out. He and Clarence E both finished at +9, with the handicap tiebreaker tipping in Jalen’s favor.
Clarence’s Best Round of the Season
Clarence played the round of his year, highlighted by an eagle 2 on a par-4 and rock-solid consistency across 18 holes. Though the tiebreaker cost him the win, this was his defining performance of the season so far.
Armey in Third
Taegan Armey rounded out the podium with a +13 finish, steady enough to stay in the mix but never quite threatening the leaders.
🔥 Harold Varner Division (HV)
Hogue’s Historic First Win
After over 8 years of competing in PinSeekers events, Trent Hogue finally captured his first career victory. And he did it with his best round ever — highlighted by an eagle on a par-4 and a couple of birdies. His gritty +18 gave him the breakthrough win by a single stroke, making him the story of the division and the tournament.
Tanner Pushes to the End
Mike Tanner nearly spoiled Trent’s day, finishing just one shot back at +19. He kept the pressure on until the final hole, ensuring the HV Division title wasn’t decided until the last putts dropped.
The HV Wildcard
Trent’s victory means the streak continues: every HV Division event this season has crowned a different champion. No one has repeated, making this the most unpredictable race in PinSeekers.
Division Winners:
Harold Varner Division – Trent Hogue (Win by 1 stroke over Mike Tanner)
Champion: Trent Hogue – +18 🏆
2nd – Mike Tanner – +19
3rd – Vincent White- +20
Calvin Peete Division – Jalen Royal (Win on Handicap Tiebreaker over Clarence E)

Course: Cross Creek Golf Club
🌟 Tournament Overview
It was a cold morning at Cross Creek, and the course showed its teeth. Narrow greens, firm fairways, and a tricky layout made scoring a grind. Birdies were scarce, and patience was the real weapon of the day. By the end, we saw breakthrough wins, bounce-back performances, and the continued dominance of Silk in the Tiger Woods Division.
🔥 Tiger Woods Division (TW)
Silk’s 4th Win of the Year
Silk posted a +4, his fourth victory this season, putting him firmly in the driver’s seat for the division title. His consistency and ability to close out rounds has made him the man to beat.
CJ Climbs the Standings
After tying for second at the season’s first Major at Cobblestone, CJ had been relatively quiet. This runner-up finish moved him from 5th to 4th place in the standings — right behind Al. With just one event left, he can’t catch Silk, but his steady play keeps him among the top names.
Al’s Steady Play
Al finished 3rd at +9, continuing his run of consistent golf. While winless so far this season, he’s been steady — stacking up points with top-5 finishes and keeping himself near the top of the Tiger Woods Division standings. The breakthrough victory hasn’t landed yet, but the consistency is undeniable.
🏆 Harold Varner Division (HV)
Tanner’s Breakthrough Victory
Mike Tanner stole the spotlight, posting +15 to earn his first career PinSeeker win. What makes it remarkable is that Tanner has only been golfing for just over 3 years — and already, he’s making serious noise in the HV division. After finishing second in the last event, he came back stronger and finally got the job done. With the victory, Tanner jumped into 2nd place in the standings, showing just how fast he’s climbed the ranks. He’s not just learning the game anymore — he’s competing to win it all.
Marcus Bounces Back
Marcus Robinson, who struggled at Noble Hawk, delivered a gritty performance at Cross Creek, finishing runner-up at +16 and nearly forcing a tiebreaker.
Bryant Holds His Ground
Bryant White’s steady play earned him a third-place finish at +21, and more importantly, it gave him extra breathing room over Tanner in the standings. With just one tournament left, Bryant is still holding onto the top spot — setting up a blockbuster finish at Bridgewater. In the words of Terrell Owens "Get your popcorn ready".
⛳ Calvin Peete Division (CP)
Paul Finally Breaks Through
After piling up top-5 finishes all season, Paul Brantley delivered his first win of 2025 with a +14. A steady, patient round put him ahead of the pack.
Ruben’s Cold Putter
Ruben Trotter finished runner-up at +18, but couldn’t get any birdie putts to fall, keeping him from challenging Paul late.
Clarence & Greg Hold Strong
Clarence followed up his runner-up finish at Noble Hawk with another podium, tying Greg Hicks at +19 for third place. Both proved they’re staying hot down the stretch.
📝 Final Thoughts
The 2025 PinSeeker season comes down to Bridgewater Golf Club.
In HV, Bryant White holds the top spot, but Mike Tanner’s breakthrough victory has pushed him into 2nd place and within striking distance. The crown will be decided at Bridgewater.
In TW, Silk’s four wins put him in control, but Tracey still has a chance to make things interesting. Behind them, CJ’s climb and Al’s steady play will help shape the final order.
In CP, Jalen Royal has already locked up the division, but the rest of the standings are still up for grabs with Paul, Clarence, Greg, and Ruben all fighting for position.
It all comes down to one final event. As Michael Jordan said:
“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.”
